What are you trying to do? My California Audio Labs dvd player has a method for connecting the component output to the s-video connection. Tributaries makes devices which convert formats. With the Cal, two of the component connections are connected to a cable with an s-video connection at the other end.
Just use an S-video cable from source to monitor. It's the best solution, not to mention the easiest.Difference between S-video and component is negligible on small (32" or less) sets, minor on medium (36-43") and only fairly noticeable once you get to 50" or more. I have a 47" Panasonic HDTV-capable RPTV, and the S-video was just fine. The component cables just gave me slightly more vivid colors and a little bit sharper picture . . .
Not possible without electronics. Even then you would not see any benefits just a conversion.
