I've been looking for a processor for my home theater for some time. Unfortunately, the processors that have the features that I want cost 5 digits. In the 4 digit range, there are a few that have what I am looking for -- but they are all receivers (Denon AVR5803 and 4802, Pioneer VSX-49TX and 47TX).
Tonight I saw an ad for the Rotel RSP-1066 processor and this may be what I have been looking for. So I took a look at the Rotel site and browsed the pages with the RSP-1066. Now I've got some questions...First, the inputs for audio. Do they remain analog throughout the signal path or are they subject to A/D conversion? Second, the multichannel input for DVD-A, SACD and future audio -- analog throughout or subject to A/D conversion? And finally, what D/A chips are being used in the RSP-1066? I'm not interested in whose, but rather 24/48, 24/96, 24/192, one chip for everything, separate chips for each channel, etc. There is no information about this on the site. Thanks for any info.

I just purchased one about 10 days ago and love it however I don't feel knowlegable enough to answer your questions. I have ingested so much info over the last 3 months that I'm overwhelmed.
