I have 42 inch Phillips that for no obvious reason developed a line across the screen about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom. The color pixels are still there but just random. Phillips doesnt want to talk to me. their "authorized" repair techs have NEVER repaired a plasma, cannot even test to see if the problem is signal, cables or monitor. The local techs wont even give me the name of the people in Phillips tech help system to call. Phillips standard line is "replace the plasma" Screw you and spending another 9 grand on this piece of crap. Anybody got anything? a phone number, a complaint hotline (yeah right), somebody with actual knowledge to talk to?

I don't know why you got such cold response from Philips. They are among the best. Anyway... things look like display driver, or display itself is busted. In most cases, display and its driver are as one unit, and there are no repairs on this. If TV is under warranty, they MUST accept your request to fix or replace it (reimburse money) for free, that's the law.
If it is not under warranty, and they refuse to do repair, you should go to some other repair shops, and ask for help. Ask them to talk to technicians. Ask if they maybe had the same problems before and can they obtain parts. Have your TV model number with you, cause tech may have service manual at hand and check rigt away if they can get a new display (driver board) that is probable cause.
Ask about charge/estimate, if they are unable to fix it. Go to several shops.
Sorry to hear that. Guess I just scratched Philips off my Plasma TV short list.
