Does anyone have an idea whats up when a player malfuntions like this?
I've had it only a year. When a movie is put in it just says "loading" and finally says "no disc". It will play cd's just fine. I'm not going to pay for a repair if new ones are going for as little as $65. Should I open it up and dust-off the interior with canned air? Thanks for any help.

I've got the same DVD player and found this same symptom to exist with only a very few DVDs (e.g. new Planet of the Apes) by a specific company (can't remember which it is offhand... it's late). Given the age of our units, I've simply written it off as a newer "Matrix" type issue meaning our engines just can't handle some of the discs out there.See my post above too where I'm experiencing other problems and am trying to determine if it's the 511 or my dobly receiver.
