Is there a general rule of thumb as to how far apart non-magnetically shielded speakers should be placed from the tv? The speakers in my small bedroom system are about 3' away from the side walls, and with only 5ft of space remaining within them, I'm not sure if it's ok to place a 27" tv between them?
Follow Ups:
Look for color distortions at the edges of the picture. Verify this with many different channels and/or DVDs. By moving the speakers, you can then find the distance at which the picture is unaffected. Also, try moving the speakers away from the back wall and out into the room, and keep the TV as far back as possible. There are speaker placement links right here, just click FAQ and scroll down.
