I need to run a 25 foot s-video cable from the DSS. What's my best choice - AR HT123 at $30, IXOS 124AV at $60 or one of the Monsters MSV2 or 3 at $50-100 ?

I can 2nd Markertek.. been using 2-25 ft. svhs cables coupled together (mxm to fxm) for the long run betwween my equipment closet and my Mitz direct view, with no problems. Also can recommend their canare cable and connectors for audio. Make sure to order their catalog, its full of cool stuff.
For A/V junkies, it's a better "read" than any book!

and read the response from Lasermeister. He's right.
If your looking for something that's better than average, check out the Transparent S Video cables. Colors and focus are much much better. Especially in long runs. It'll cost more though...maybe 350-$500 for that length.Transparentcable.com
Spending $350-500 on a 25' length of S-Video cable for a DSS application would be a foolish waste of money IMO, even for a kazillionaire. DSS is not a pristine source with its bandwidth limitations and pixelation problems--I would go with the cheapest decent cable available. The $30 one should do fine. If you have a DVD player with a high quality display and are a quality oriented viewer, a more expensive cable might make sense, but there, it should ideally be a component video cable, not S-Video.
Todd, but be so quick to doubt it...unless you've tried it. Expecially on a long run like that. It's worth it to me, and I'm not a kazzillionaire...I'm just stating my opinion. Baseed on a trial and purchase.
