Just bought a house and, of course, my first priority is to finally set up a decent home theater :)Would appreciate any suggestions on web sites that have info on home theater build outs, including how-to's on selecting the proper & approved wiring for speakers, how to run said wires, etc.

Went through this exercise some time ago. Don't have a link handy. But if you are in the U.S.A. the wiring needs to meet your local electrical code. Generally, it is considered Class 2 or Class 3 electrical wiring (your AC power wiring is Class 1). This means that the speaker cable will need to have a CL2 or CL3 rating printed on it as appropriate, be installed in a workmanlike manner, not be run through the same holes as your electrical wiring, and a whole lot of other things that don't have a thing to do with how it will sound. The rating requirements let out a lot of "audiophile" speaker wire. But Monster has rated cable if you like that brand. And rated 12 gauge twisted pair that should be good for at least 50 foot runs is available from many manufacturers. It is sometimes called architectural cable. You can find the generic stuff at places like www.partsexpress.com
