Anyone come across any problmes or disk gliches when using the Sony DVD player 7700 ?Is this a good player.
thanks
I am happy to say that I am a proud owner of a 7700. Keywords for describing it's performance? Try excellent, superb, incredible, and last but not least, mind bogglingly cool! The motorized front face adds a touch of sophistication. The soft touch controls on said front face are very easy to use. The remote is well laid out. Menu systems are laid out logically. Performance of the machine is incredible. Never a glitch or hiccup--flawless. Strongly recommended--I would choose no other!
Hope this helps narrow your search!
Hello,
Does this player play CD's? How do they sound in comarison to other CD players? Does it pass 96/24 data? Thanks.
It does indeed play CDs and in fact has dual pickups for this purpose. It does not pass a true 96/24 signal, but I don't think there are any players still in production that do.
The CD sound quality is actually quite good if not great. Compared to my Adcom GCD-700 it presents with a bigger soundstage and more detail throughout all frequencies. I have read in magazine reviews where the reviewers compare it very favorably to the XA7ES.
I have a Theater Master Ovation and the DVP-S7700 is the only sub 1K DVD player I've tried that doesn't upset the Digital Flywheel even in its most sensitive setting. This means that the digital datastream it delivers is very clean indeed. Couldn't ask for better picture quality and no lip sync problems whatsoever. Built quality, heavy shielding, and attention to detail are the best in its price range.
I have it & have never had any problems. Great picure.
