First -- HDTV's are similar to computers; they are changing very rapidly.
so whatever you buy will be old by the time you have installed it.

Second -- Size You can sit closer to a HDTV, therefore a larger screen is feasible.

Third -- The product introductions are in October/ November but usually announced at CES in January (except SONY) The trend has been prices down 30% and capability up 15% each year(just like computers).
