This coming weekend, I'll have an opputurnity to take this player home from a local audio/video store in Dallas area and try it on my new Sony HDTV/KP-65WV600. After I've been reading or hearing about the chroma bug (RED) on this player, I am having a second thought that I'm not even sure it's worth the hassle. My current player is a Pinoneer Elite DV-09 in which I'd hope to have the 3800 to replace. Another question, Is my Sony good enough to 'deinterlace' the pictures coming out from the DV-09? My eyes don't think so for now. Any inputs or suggestions would be welcome

Except from DV-09 owners, opinions are that even with the dreaded chroma bug the DVD3800 is better than the DV-09. The Denon is a progressive player and the output would be better than the Sony doing the deinterlacing (in my opinion). Go to avsforum.com and do a search in the "DVD and Laserdisc Hardware" section about the DVD3800. While it's not 100% gone, Denon has a fix for the chroma bug (see references to "DenonJeff") via a software update or you can get a recent model that has the fixed chip (in hardware).
