I was helping a neighbor setting up his RP system as he just bought a DVD. The DVD is also progressive scan. I suggested component input might be better for Prog scan as I recall reading that somewhere. The pic was pretty good but not what I would call outstanding. And there were faint horizontal white lines all the way down about an inch apart. We tried the the I/P switch on the DVD. He says he had it calibrated by BBuy (ahem). The lines are not there on broadcast. They are there on all screen types. Both units are Toshiba.Any thoughts? TIA

There really isnt enough information here, what model player and TV are they? Is the TV HD, if so is it using component video in order to take advantage of the progressive signal? Is the DVD set to output progressive scan?My best theory at this point, since broadcast looks good and you are seeing white lines, I would say the DVD player is either setup incorrectly or the DVD player is faulty.
