Hello
I may be an Electro-dolt, but I am an aggressive consumer. Just received an Outlaw ICBM-1 and 12 pretty cables. This bass management unit is destined to go between a 6 channel receiver (Onkyo 797) and a DVD-A player (Toshiba SD9200). The ICBM has provision for stereo or dual mono subwoofers, and I have 2 modest subs (Klipsch LF10 and Velodyne CHT100).I thought I had my system set up correctly with component cables and a glass Toslink connector. Apparently, you need the 6 pairs of cables to get DVD Audio.
So, here are the questions:
* If I am listening to a non DVD Audio source, like digital cable TV/music, will I get any output from my subs?
[subs will be connected to the ICBM unit - digital cable signal goes directly from the wall to the receiver.]* Do I have to disconnect the Toslink connector or will the DVD movie signal go through the 6 channel path?
* What is the smart question should I be asking but not?
Follow Ups:
Hi,
Your onkyo should look for 5.1 signals. However, you may have to switch the dvd player from audio to toslink. You definitely should not have to disconnect anything.
