When using a DVD player with Dolby Digital, at what frequency does the decoding send signals to the Low Frequency Effects channel, and what is the lower limit of what is sent to the L and R main speakers? Thanks for the info,
Phil
I believe that different DVDPs manage bass frequencies differently and will allow some flexability as far as the cutoff is concerned. In DD, you often have the options to select "small" or "large" main speakers and this will determine the cutoff for the mains/LFE in some cases. (I know the THX spec is 80 Hz and I think in most cases the LFE follows the same rule and that much above that, subwoofer localization becomes an issue.)
Hope this helped!
