Sterophile, a high end audio magazine, listed the Toshiba SD-9200 on their top recommended list in the recent October, 2000 issue (p. 95). They are mostly concerned with audio. This unit can be bought for $600-650 at various e traders.
what exactly do you mean by best audio? you mean best 2-channel analog outputs for CDs and DVDs? i heard the Denon sounds pretty good as a CD player but it's by no means the best. its video quality is supposed to be excellent though - no chroma bug.
