But setup is a major part of any HT system. Are you comfortable with hooking up electronics? If so, then you can set up a decent system on your own. However, if you are like most people, then your best bet is to find a decent store that does the delivery & setup.

I would suggest buying some of the magazines on the market, just to get a feel for what is out there.

To answer your last question, yes the Toshiba is decent.
