Eight track tapes were probably a better audio format than was CED for video. The resolution is VHS quality at best, and VHS was certainly a far more durable and robust medium than was this ill-conceived format. CED is not digital and uses a stylus that wears the disc, and the system is prone to a whole host of problems. This is not a viable playback format other than for the titles that are unique to it; hence it is essentially a curiosity.
