In Reply to: high-quality 36" flat TVs, please suggestions... posted by Antonio Machado on November 26, 2002 at 05:47:54:
I recently purchased the Panasonic 32HX42 (32") hdtv and absolutely love it. I believe their 36" version is well below $2000. The one thing to be sure you get are two component video inputs (for progressive scan dvd and hdtv).

Thanks for replying my post. Indeed, I have been checking Panasonic TVs and I like their colors and fine resolution; I am considering this option also, specially because the price is from far cheaper than Sony TVs.; nevertheless, many salesman have told me Sony is superior to any other brands. If I base my opinion just in what I see, to be sincere I don't find a difference between both manufacturers, and sometimes I even consider those opinions partial. But I am new in this field and I have to learn more, investigate more before purchasing my TV, which I expect to give fun during many years coming. The size you have (32") is also excellent, specially for medium-size rooms just like mine, so an interesting option would be Sony 32". Vaughn, thanks again for your help, best regards, Antonio Machado.
Antonio, I bought the Panasonic 36" HDTV a couple of months ago and so far it's been great. Even regular TV broadcasts are much clearer (no scan lines) than on a pan and scan TV. Have you checked out Toshiba? I'd put them right in there with the Panasonic.
