I have heard this term with respect to DVD palayers, some can and cannot display this signal. Is this a Blacker than Black level that is used to sync the horizontal and vertical lines and fields on TV. I own a Pioneer 414 and a Wega 32xbr250. Please help.
Thanks, Al
Pluge is the 3 black bars in a color pattern used to set the black level. Some DVD players will not display the color below the standard black.
Your owners manual may tell you if your player will or will not produce the signal levels darker than standard black. If not the black level (brightness) can still be set by using the the three black bars in a SMPTE test pattern.
