Hi, I'm wondering if someone can tell me if the Toshiba 34HF81 is a good TV (picture and overall quality).I've never bought anything Toshiba before. There's also an upgraded version, the 34HDX82.Is it a good choice versus a Panasonic CT34WX52 (The Toshiba is 600$CAN. cheaper.)

I found the best place for Toshiba laptop battery ! They have the lowest prices and largest number of products. Simple, online ordering.

This would be a coin flip as far as I can tell. Both Panasonic and Toshiba would be excellent choices. If the Toshiba has all of the inputs you need and it's $600 cheaper, then go with it. That $600 can buy a mighty nice progressive scan DVD player to go along with your new monitor.
I have the 57hdx82, also tried the panny 53wx52.
Also a Tosh 40H80 tried the Mits 55857(it went right back)
Depending on what you plan to view will determine which brand will do you justice.BTW TOsh has separate video setting for each input, panny's are global.
As for what I've tested, cable, digital cable, DVD rp91, as sources.
The Tosh still makes the best line doubler for viewing ntsc pic's. Even though it's 540P, miles infront of panny for this.
Digital cable is superb, but must be viewed on Svid and the IC must be a dual run coax. I believe AQ makes one,or DIY .
As for the DVD, the panny at 480 gets an A+. I'd give the Tosh A-,B+.
