Thank you for your help. According to the sales rep for Hitachi, this is a software problem with some new movies and that we just need to upgrade the DVD software. The service depot has the upgrade discs and is forwarding it to us.I hope it's as simple as that.

Sounds like Hitachi will only supply it if you ask...hmmm...Oh well, I'm just hoping that Sony can come up with a similar solution for my S9000.

I just wanted to send an update about the Hitachi DVD player that I was having problems with. The software update has been installed and the video/audio sync problems are now gone.Whatever the problem was, Hitachi had a quick fix.
