In Reply to: Will I Need HDTV Receiver? posted by Peter K on January 03, 2003 at 12:22:42:
Contact Comcast to see if you can rent the HDTV box. I have Time Warner and when they get off their ass here in SoCal and decide to broadcast more than a couple of premium channels in HiDef, they said they will rent the HDTV receiver for about $10/month. In the long run it might be more expensive that way, ut I figure if it breaks or needs upgrading, it'll be on their dime.
Follow Ups:
In other words, I will need Comcast to provide a box (similar to what I have now) for their digital cable line AND a second box to serve as the HDTV receiver? Or, will I need only one box?
Comcast is one box solution - it does everything.
If Comcast works like Time Warner, you'll need a digital and an HDTV box.
