Hi all-
I was wondering if anybody new if there is an advantage to running a DVD's output through your preamp as opposed to just going directly into the TV? Doesn't seem to make sense but.....
Follow Ups:
I agree with Mr gridlock. The other GOOD reason is if your TV only has one composite input and you have several composite devices (saves buying a switch)
You may find that there's a better picture quality when connecting a source component directly to the monitor, rather than connecting it to a receiver/controller then to the monitor, however, by connecting it to the receiver/controller first, it simplifies the way you turn your system on since there's no need to find the correct video input on the monitor.
I run the video from my DVD player through my pre/pro then back to the TV. I do the same for my VCR. When I select either of those sources on my pre/pro's remote, my TV switches to that input. No more cycling through the input selector on my TV's remote.
