I use satellite for my whole house (dish network). Since the satellite receiver is the tuner and has volume built in, would there be any loss using a 15" computer monitor with speakers built in in my kitchen vs. using a 15" tv? Price is about a 2/3 savings. Do I need a receiver with special outputs or do they make adaptors for coax or S-video to the serial input on the computer monitor?
Thanks for the help. You may be saving me about $700.

"... do they make adaptors for coax or S-video to the serial input on the computer monitor?"I know of at least one... Look around on the net, you'll probably find a few... The one I remember seeing is HDTV-ready, which brings up an interesting point: CRTs offer better resolution and color over regular TVs.
Thanks for the suggestions. I did find tons of adaptors at www.parts-express.com.
