Hello!
I have a Mitsubishi WS73903 (love it), and I was considering getting the HDTV receiver that goes with it. The local Good Guys have them for sale now at $1,000. The retail used to be $3,000 6 months ago. Before I buy it, do you know why they are being so heavily discounted? Is it because something better is being released tomorrow? Or if you know of a better price. Thanks, I want to get it before New Years as the Rose Parade is being broadcast in HDTV.

A Mits rep told my crowd that $500 was the target price and it wouldn't get cheaper. Should be $500 already.
According to the local Mits rep, there is a company committment to cut the price by 50% every year until they reach a "commodity price"---a dollar figure that was not specified. However, I was assured that the price will be cut next October/November to a max of $500.00 . After that, I would *guess* that they'll drop to the $250.00 range and stay there. The one time that I definitely wouldn't buy at $1,000.00 would be next September...that would be an expensive month of TV!
