I have a vintage Sony Trinitron('89) set in my bedroom that doesn't have an S-video connection. My only input choice apart from a direct coaxial connection from the Comcast Scientific Atlanta digital cable box is composite video. What composite video cable would offer me a picture signal comparable to an S-Video connection? Thanks

Maybe you could get one of those RF switcher boxes that came with the old Atari video games. You don't lose Ch 3's usage, that means you could keep your commondore vic 20 hooked up.
Wireworld video cables work well with Trinitrons. Look into their older Series III Starlight video cable at The Cable Company: www.fatwyre.com. Fairly inexpensive. Newer Series V pricier, no doubt: www.wireworldaudio.com. Or just go to www.Rhinocables for good Belden stock.

be as good or better than a super-high-end composite cable.its just a function of how s-video is separated vs how composite is not.
if you stick with rg-6 for the f-connection make sure its quad-shield and terminated properly.
