Did anyone else see this fool from home-theater-high-end.com or something like that talking about projection technologies. He claims rear projection LCD Tv's offer the best picture and similarly likes DLP projection technologies. Come on, when you say THE BEST you should be talking about CRT Front Projection not Little Color Dots or Distracting Light Pulses systems. I thought TechTv employed and even invited knowledgable people, it seems not. Although one person a while back did show off a klipsch THX speaker system with a mega buck plasma screen (plasma is still developing into a decient display device) and a amp/preamp combo to power it.

LCD is to CRT as CD is to Vinyl..."Perfect sound/picture forever!" LOL! I would guess that embracing older technologies (even if they really are superior to the new ones) just doesn't attract viewers or advertisers. Don't let it bother you...he probably thinks his Bose Lifestyle system is the best surround sound money can buy.
Oh, but DUDE! The sound specialists at Circuit City said that Bose kicks butt! And then he played it for me! I've never heard the Backstreet Boys sound so good! DUDE!That little tripe out of the way, LCD isn't so bad. I agree that CRT is far better (and have said so elsewhere) but for projection, LCD does make for a decent picture for a good price. But then I'm all about finding the best bang for the buck and having it meet the aesthetics of the room... LCD projectors have CRT projector beat on that level.
The guy didn't even mention LCoS? That's the latest, hottest technology for RPs, from Toshiba. The new GW LCDs are way better than the old one, blacks are deeper, but shadow detail is still better on plasmas.
Sticking with CRT til technology matures (blacks & shadow detail) and prices come down a bit in whatever new technology looks best.
