In Reply to: Can receivers handle Svid and RCA at same time? posted by davewe on December 16, 1999 at 11:27:40:
No, I have a Sony 30ES it will do composite on one Bank and Svideo on the other, the two are in no way connected. This is the norm for all receivers. So ideally you need a TV with Two seperate inputs. What I did was run all composite and let the receiver do the swithing. When I watched a DVD I plugged in the Svideo for a better picture( what a pain). After about a year I broke down and bought a TV with four inputs and let the TV do the swithing.Sorry but home theatre is a Pain, and it won't get simpler. Component, Svideo, composite, Satalite, RF, and soon Firewire 1394.
