Is there a menu that needs addressing ie: on/off svhs or composite in/out..?
For best results connect video out directly to the monitor bypassing the amp......
Since you've upgraded your amp your dvd could also use upgrading to seperate components that playback dvd-audio as well........ What monitor...??? SVHS compatible...?
what speakers...?

I resolved the problem by basically understanding exactly how the different video signals are handled by this receiver. Bear with me because I am not an audiophile. It appears that if you have a composite signal entering the receiver it can only go out the composite monitor feed and that has to be isolated on its own composite input on the monitor. The same is true of the component and S-Video outputs as well. Very simple but it really stumped me. I also don't know if this is unique to Denon or if all middle of the pack units have the same discrete video outputs. It appears that the Denon 3803 make a conversion for you but mine does not. The DVD player I have has component and S-Video out so it's not too dated. The TV I have, on the otherhand, is dated and I'll replace it at the next turn of the crank. I always build up inside out.
