If you decide to purchase something , do you buy directly from them or do they search all authorized retailers for the best price for the item you want? Seems like a good service for people living in rural areas. Any complaints about them? I'm in the market for a 32" flat screen T.V. Not sure what brand to buy yet. I've heard good about Panasonic, Sony, and Toshiba. Don't want HDTV. Thanks, Bob.

Check out their policy regarding televisions. Regarding TV's, once you accept delivery IT'S YOURS. Although, their website is rather vague regarding this their return policy info they send with the TV is quite explicit. They do not do exchanges, returns, or replacement for any reason, even if it's defective.I found this out the hard way. Bought a Toshiba (57H82) 57" projection HD monitor back in Feburary. It went out after two hours. Upon calling them the next day, they basically said that this was not their problem, taht it was now a warranty issue and that I needed to contact Toshiba.
It's almost been three months now and I'm just now getting the issue resolved, (the monitor has still not been repaired). It has been a real nightmare!!! So far they've replaced the digital convergence module, turner module (both defective), power supply (damaged) without yet fixing the problem. The service technician believes another component, by the picture tube, has also been damaged and needs to be replaced. We have had no help from either OneCall or Toshiba. OneCall says, quite bluntly, "It not our problem", Toshiba, "We're working on it".
We've called the Better Business Bureau, Department of Consumer Affairs, Consumer Union, Local TV Stations (KABC,KCBS,KNBC,KCAL,KTTV) without much success. Apparently, there weren't any laws nor regulations (in Calif) which which were violated. After 2+ months, we were finally able to get this into temporary dispute with our credit card company, which has given us some, not alot, of leverage.
You will save money purchasing through OneCall but you give up alot. If the TV is defective you are up the creek. You will not be able to return the product under any circumstances. You will then have to deal with the manufacturer which in our experience with for us has been abosolutely dreadful. Toshiba does not regard repair issues to be a problem until they take longer than 6-8 weeks. Backorder of parts (ie digital convergence module) of 1 month is not an issue.
I've not bought from them over a year or so but I'd never had any problem with my previous purchases. Why invest into a analog tv when FCC is going to pull the plug in 2006?
I would not deal with this company, I bought a dvd player from them, it was defective and would not read most disc's, I sent it back and they charged me a 15% restocking fee, on top of that, it took me over a month of calls to finnally give me credit on my card, that on top of the restocking charge for a defective dvd player, the bottom line is that when you deal with these types of company's, you are at their mercy, buyer beware, good luck
why restock and not replace??? most companies of this type have a re-stocking fee (which is stated on their site), but will exchange a defective item for free!
it's been a year or so since i bought something from them, but they are really great to deal with and have not had a problem in about 5-10 xactions i have had with them.... they are just far enough away from me in CA to not pay sales tax and not to far to get reemed on Shipping.... Also, YES, you DO want to find other prices and then call them, thay always atleast match the price for me.
