I'm looking at the same type upgrade, debating whether to go with an active tube preamp or a passive TVC, to add to my SS multichannel preamp. Here's a post at the Bent Audio Forum addressing what you are asking. Appears that you can do it your way or actually add a HT bypass in the passive chassis.
Follow Ups:
I have been running the FT Audio Passive with HT for several years. I use one input on the passive for the fronts from the HT processor. All you have to do is remember to turn down the volume on the passive when you are finished.
That's the scary part of what JC of Bent Audio states in the above posted forum:"Because of this my prefered connection with a HT processor is to just run it to an input on the TX102 pre-amp and then turn the level up to max volume when using the HT processor."
I am in the habit of switching the input and turning the volume down when I am finished watching a movie. As long as you turn everything off at the end of watching it should never be a problem.
