I would like to buy a six channel Preamp like the Bel Canto or Accuphase cx 260 but I also need to decode the digital signal from my Dish sattelite box for surround sound. I appreciate that the digital processing of my Dish signal does not have to be sota and I am looking to see if anyone makes a top notch SACD/DVD or DVD player that accepts a toslink input audio signal and can then decode it and send it to the six channel analog output that goes to the preamp. Thanks so much

Might be best to pick out the best DVD/SACD player you can buy (disregarding the above requirement) and add an inexpensive H.T. pre/pro or receiver with pre-outs. Then you will also have video switching.I am using a Sony DVD/SACD player with internal decoding, along with a Sony TAP 6 channel preamp. But I still use an older prologic pre/pro for the video (and other A/V sources).
I plan to upgrade the Pre/pro later to have better/more decoding options.
Thanks for the comment. But, I cannot see how this will work unless I am gonna switch cables every time I go from the TV/dish to the rest of the stereo. I assume you are suggesting that I go from the pre-pro 5.1 outputs to the 5.1 channel inputs on the better quality preamp. Problem is, those inputs will probably not be open.Otherwise, I would be switching at the power amps every time.
Thanks
Guess I assumed you will have more than one set of 5.1 inputs on the new multichannel preamp. The Sony TAP9000ES has 2 sets of volume controlled inputs, 1 set of bypassed 5.1 inputs, and 1 set of bypass stereo inputs. My DVD/SACD player goes to one of the volume controlled inputs, and the older pre/pre output goes to the 5.1 bypassed input, using the volume control on the pre/pro. The output of the TAP goes to the power amps.
