I don't know how large (and heavy) your speakers are, but what I did was make temporary wooden braces, similar to those one would use when hanging drywall, along with extra lengths of speaker wire. By setting the surrounds on these braces, I moved them around all positions on the back and sidewalls, at different heights.I'm using Def Techs BP2s, which are dipoles, now have them mounted on sides directly in line with listening position, 6" from ceiling and walls, using specialty speaker wall mounting brackets.

The ADP-170 is not very large about 12" high. It is also a dipole. Weight is not an issue about 24lb. Thanks for your suggestion. Will consider it.
