I've done it with my Placette Audio 3-input passive linestage. I just have to remember to turn the volume down before switching to another input. BUT.... Placette Audio will configure one of the inputs strictly as a theater bypass if you ask them to prior to placing your order with them.
Follow Ups:
I use a placette passive pre in my system as well, and turn the volume up for the HT input. I didn't want to lose an input, so I asked Guy if I could get another one for an HT bypass. He said they can turn one of the 2 outputs into an HT bypass input. That sounds like a good option for most people (unless you need the other output for a sub).
