My center speaker drops to 4 ohms at bass frequencies. Didn't have any problems with my VSX D2011. I don't think you'll run into any problems with either receiver working into 4 ohms provided you leave adequate ventilation space around.You can find some 3803 and D2011 (Elite 45TX in US) comparisons on the following link:

I've just finished fitting my cinema room and set up my surround sound using the easy set up option on my 2011, every thing ran smoothly but when a DVD was played through my set, NO sound from my subwoofer? Having checked all connections I rang my local dealer up and was told its a fault with the amp, they've had 3 out of 5 exactly the same!Worse still no delivery time on a replacement and Pioneer want mine back before a re-order....not happy!!
This as been driving me made for days I've got exactly the same problem
