I have a Toshiba 2108 DVD player. Layer Changes during movies are quite annoying...Is this layer change appparent on newer DVD Players?
I am quite interested in the Sony DVP-NS725P player.
Progressive scan and pristine picture is what I am after..
(in adition to eliminating that darn pause at the layer change)DVD-A/SACD- Neither of these is a concern to me. I feel that both formats are doomed to at best be a fringe media or worst complete failure.
Thanks for your help.Charlie
PS- I will not spend over $350 for a new player (at this time)
Follow Ups:
I don't kow why they don't have some kind of memory to hold the upto 1 second of footage so that the change can be eliminated period.
How hard is it to do this? not very i bet. People might say "well they charge more". I would pay $50 extra for that feature. Just like buffer ram on my cd/dvd burners
It's only a half second, maybe a second max. My Pannie RP91 (list $800, street $450) does it, my Toshiba SD1200 ($200 way back then, probably $80 for a comparable player now) does it, they pretty much all do it. It's a very, very small price to pay for the greatly improved audio and video resolution vs. VHS ...
