The other day a few members from a local AVforum brought their budget players to compare, using my system, I have FMJ DV27, before I had the DV88, and the difference between the two was not much, particularly regarding sound...We tested Sony, Toshiba, Aiwa, Pioneer and Onkyo, playing mainly Stingīs all this time DVD, all sounded substantially worst than my Arcam, meaning they didnīt even sound hifi, regarding image, some where quite close, using a 32" Loewe...
Now, my Arcam improved a lot sound wise with a VDH Mainsstream PC and an Apogee Wide-Eye digital IC, I recomend you try them if you get the Arcam...
