Calm down, I'm just kidding!Well, if I had the dough, I might not be kidding. Anyway, I'd expect that you'd see an improvement in picture quality on a plasma. I doubt that you'd see a dramatic improvement with daytime viewing, but the overall picture quality should be kicked up a notch in a Theater-like setting (dark or low light). How much of an improvement, even in this type of environment, is the question. I'd suggest trying out a few different power cords -- maybe 2 or 3, tops -- and see (pardon the pun) if they make a difference to you and if that difference is worth the price.
Of course, a plasma (or any display, for that matter) should be properly calibrated with at least DVE, VE or Avia before stepping up to any after market products. And before calibrating, at least 100 - 200 hours of use (not in the manufacturer's "torch mode", of course) to allow for proper break-in of the components if the display is brand new.
Follow Ups:
I hope to be able to report findings within in the next few weeks. PS: Hate audio dealers? That's easy and expected and boring. I REALLY have come to hate, loath and otherwise have generally non-Judeo-Christian feelings toward "A/V" dealers...but, of course, that's another story.
