Hi,Is anyone familar with Connectronics DVI cables at markertek.com? Is the quality good? I am looking for a good quality 25 ft. cable for the best price as I am finding my budget tightening and am trying to watch nickels and dimes. Not at the expense of an inferior cable though!!
Does anyone know exactly what kind of DVI connections I need to go from my HTPC ATI 9500 Pro (DVI-I) to one of the lcd projectors (Sanyo Z2 or Panny 500)? If I will use the DVI from HTPC to feed the projector do I have a choice between DVI-D or DVI-I? Any pros or cons or money to be saved with that choice if I can go with DVI-D or DVI-D?
Also, anyone have any comments about Canare 4S11 cable to be used for long runs (70')? Sound quality?Thank you very much!
Follow Ups:
DVI-I is just DVI-A and DVI-D on the same connector. In the case of your HTPC, it means that the computer can output a digital or analog signal over the same cable. You'd never use both at once, so if the projector supports DVI-D, then go with DVI-D.If you are going with DVI-D, I expect that the quality of the cable won't be much of an issue -- it will either work, or it won't.
the Canare is designed especially for such long runs so you should be fine. Their website has a graph showing signal loss for long runs. If memory serves, you've got to get to like 1000 feet before loss appears significant ...
