as I understand it it means that the signal coming out is doubled - virtually eliminates those scan lines. BUT you need a TV or whatever which will accept such a signal. For ordinary TVs it is less important. For big screen units & projectors it is virtually essential.So, if you have no future plans for a big screen unit, do not worry about it.
