I'm thinking about using my McIntosh 7270 amp (270wpc) to power my old jbl4313's as front speakers in my HT/audio setup (26x24 room).....Will this make my current AV receiver(Sony DA4ES) more efficient in the other channels?...The JBL's are rated at only 50watts...I've heard of using different amps for different channels but wouldn't matching amps be better? Am I better off sticking solely with the sony? I also have a Dyna400 I could use (The rears?).....Any advice appreciated

Go for it. I started by adding a 150w NAD power amp for the L/R channels and noticed a big improvement (Denon rcvr and Paradigm ref speakers)). It took a lot of stress off the RCVR. IMO the fronts (L/R) were the channels that gained the most from external amplification. Since then I've added a 5 channel Rotel amp.
