Apart from all the e-bay fraud stuff: Maybe you should reconsider to buy a plasma screen at ALL, since:
- light emission reduces FAST
- it has 'burn in' problems: unless you want other to know which channele you usually watch, this is not a wanted feature. (the icon of a channel or any other static picture gets 'burned in' after a whileIf anyone has other first hand experience that isn't in line with what I say here... feel free to reply. This is what I've been told by a philips insider...
Follow Ups:
...last I heard plasma life was something around 30,000 hours to 50% brightness - which isn't too bad - about 12-15 years of "normal" TV watching.Plasmas, as well as CRT rear projectors, are subject to burn-in, especialy if left in "torch mode" with contrast and brightness set too high. Most folks watch 4:3 material in zoom mode or use the orbit function.
I love my CRT 34" direct view Philips HDTV with Pixel Plus, but I don't think Philips is a leader in plasma technology. The best source for good info on plasmas is the plasma forum at www.avsforum.com
