I have seen them. My question is what is the quality of such products? Plus CD/DVD players tend to wear out before the amplification. So buy at your own risk.
The main problems with this type of setup is if one part goes wrong you are out an entire system instead of just one part of your system when taking it in for repair (you can still use your DVD player with your TV or the AVR with your VCR but if this "combo" unit breaks then you won't have either). The other dynamics that might occur is that one part sucks (lets say the DVD part) and you would have to replace both just to replace that one part you dislike. My advice is to get a good quality AVR from a respectible company and one of the less troubled DVD players and you will be happier in the long run.
