Love watching live concerts on my big screen and 5.1.......problem is that many are sonically lousy recordings...ie...Genesis....Moody Blues(Hall of Fame)......Some are GREAT! i.e.Eagles(HFO)....Steely Dan(2vN)...Sting....Natalie Cole....etc.....Anybody got any other good ones that they feel are sonically above-average?.....Or which ones to steer clear of?
Follow Ups:
INXS - Live Baby Live, best concert video ever.Dave Mathews Band - Listener Supported, excelent audio and video.
Peter Gabriel - Secret World Live, awsome.
Alison Krauss + Union Station Live --- Excellent audio
Norah Jones Live in New Orleans --- Excellent audio
Eric Clapton Unplugged --- Excellent audio
Eric Clapton Live on Tour 2001 --- Excellent audio
Eagles Hell Freezes Over --- Excellent audio
Joe Satriani Live in San Francisco --- Very good audio
LED ZEPPELIN DVD (2 DVD set) --- early footage is so so, gets better on the 2nd disc
My fav right now be Peter Gabrial - Growing Up
.
Bruce and the E-Steet Band, from Barcelona...outstanding audio. Pretty good video, put it on with lot's of people in the house and before long folks will be dancing. Classic Springsteen along with the new songs regarding 9/11..Powerful show, with the Barcelona crowd really in to it.
And Live in NYC is great too! Interestingly enough, THAT'S the one that has Out in the Street : )By the way, I can also recommend Jackson Browne's "Coming Home" (or something like that)
ELP Live Royal Albert Hall.A 1992 concert. I've read some opinions that say the sound is flawed, camera work could be better. On my system, the sound is great, video sharp. The performance is good, but they've played better at other stops on that tour.
Great if you like that style of music. The musicianship is excellent.
