I got this amazing TV last week, loved it .. the other day i noticed for the first time that during widescreen playback the top and bottom black bars curve down from the top and slightly up from the bottom .. and in 4:3 mode the side black bars go out near the top .. after spending $2500 the last thing i wanted was for issues to happen, has Anyone else had these problems? any fixes? should i call Sony or wait? I really have nothing that would cause the screen to be magnetized. I started to notice it when i hooked up my dvd player to the DVI input but how could that effect it even when i unplugged it ? Anyone no any way to reset the XBR910 to factory conditions ?

Part of an ISF calibratuon includes fixing geometric problems like this.
hooking up your DVD player with component out if it eradicates the problem? If you have the Samsung 931 this may not work as in my experience the component out of this machine isn't as good as the component out of other $300 players (for whatever reason). Not many tube TV have perfect alignment out of the box. If you have your TV ISF calibrated you will bring the best out of your TV and at the same time they can solve your initial problem.
No .. there still there after unhooking dvd player and cable etc.... , The weird part is out of the box it was perfect , nothing has changed about the room enviroment but yet now it is bad ..
Do you have any magnetic devices near the TV like unshielded speakers?I'm guessing that your TV's 'pincushion' adjustment needs tweaking which isn't available in the normal consumer setup menus. You need to be in 'service mode'. Getting there varies by model and the service manual will tell you how to get there. Your best bet might be to call Sony or your dealer and get a tech out there to have a look at it.
