I use only one set of component connectors. When I go to the TV's "HD" connection I can get not only Hi Def but also standard braodcasts, some of them upconverted. So I don't think you need two connectors (or maybe you have a different cable box setup.

Thanks. Yes, I can do the same thing, but....the standard broadcasts through the HD component connection appear in a central square bordered by black on ALL sides, making the picture even smaller than the HD picture, so the only way to get a larger standard def picture is to either go through the coax connection or an s-video input. Does that make sense? Given that, am I getting a superior picture through the s-video rather than the coax input?
