Recently purchased the Sony 34XBR 910 direct view/CRT model and am having some trouble getting a great picture. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for calibration, and also whether there is a way to do it myself versus the need for professional calibration. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks!

You can use Digital Video Essentials or its predecessor or the AVIA DVD. BUT, you can't do a gray scale and correct overscan and geometry and other tweaks that an ISF tech can do. Although it's a lot of money you invested a lot in the TV so why not see it looking its best and lasting its longest?
