I replaced the component cords I was using to Audioquest DV1 DVI-D cord btw Comcast HD cable box and (my new) Toshiba 30HF83 CRT and the picture is alot clearer detail and very deep colors but the blacks are so black they seem to blend together. I turned up Brightness level and the picture is near perfect. But will having the Brightness up to 82 and Contrast at 78 cause any damage or burning in on the screen? Thanx for any advice you can give me with this.

Why don't you consider an ISF calibration for the best possible picture and longest set life? Unlike audio which is somewhat subjective, video should meet (or come a s close to as possible) a set of standards formulated long ago. Virtually no set does and you really can't get to the standards by eye without instruments, especially the gray scale you are fooling with.
