This site is a great resource and this is my first post. Thanks ahead of time for your replies...I am looking to build a HT system that also performs very well on stereo material. I am currently looking at the following:
Rotel RSX-1056 (5x75W receiver)
B&W 705 (F and R - maybe 704 up front)
B&W HTM7 (Center)
SubI can get the above for well under $3000 after discounts etc. Couple of questions:
1. Is 75W sufficient to power the 705's? What if I upgraded to the 704's?
2. Any opinions on the new 700 series speakers?
3. Should I look at separates and spend a little more? RSP-1068+RMB1075?
4. What other brands should I demo in this price range?
5. For instance, should I look at the B&K Ref 50 and how would it pair with the B&Ws?
6. What subwoofer should I look to add in the near future? Opinion on the SVS models?Sorry for all the questions but I appreciate the help and advice...

Hi,I forgot to add that for a subwoofer you could go for the JBL line. they go very deep in the bass region and are reasonably priced. take a look at their site.
Hi,To answer your power question, it depends on two factors: Room size and speaker sensitivity. if you have a very large room the power could be an issue. but if you have sesitive pair of speakers that would correct the problem.
If you have a medium room with normal sesitivity speakers, the power is plenty and will play louder than you are able to stand and without distortion. Now, if you want a stereo qality setup, buy an integrated amplifier, connect the right and left preouts of the receiver to the amplifier for hometheater use( remeber to equalize the volume setting of each speaker on the receiver) and connect the cd player or dvd player to the other input on the amplifier for music puposes. the sound for hometheater and specially for stereo music will be much more open, transparent and just better overall.
