I'm researching ht pre/pro's and am wondering if anyone out there knows just how wide the bandwidth needs to be in a pre/pro for component video switching to not show any loss of quality vs. using a direct feed to the monitor. I am presently getting a 1080i feed from my cable co. into an Elite Pro800 plasma but would prefer to connect my cable and dvd to the processor. I am seeing freq. resp. from 10mhz to 100+mhz.Just what is required???
Also if anyone has pre/pro recomendations in the $1500 (new or used) area, let's hear them. BTW my system will never go beyond 5 channels as I wish to keep my wife.
Thanks in advance for your input.

You will not see any signal loss.
Why go through the processor at all and risk degrading the picture for a minor convenience? I have always hooked the video portion of the video components right to the TV.
