I bought some Blue Tak to eliminate rattling of some pictures on the rear wall of my HT. While conducting diagnosis using various bass tones on recycling loops (Stereophile Test CD), I noticed that the TV ITSELF was the major offender. The TV is a SONY RP HD and is the 51" model. The screen rattles during extreme bass events and the large platic rear panel rattles even more.I can damp it by hand but the large heavy pillows I put on it don't seem to do a thing.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi, are you running a sub? If so, where is it placed? You might try spiking/isolating it. It could help considerably, if it's radiation pattern, is not in line with the RPTV.
The TV speakers could be the culprit also, if your using them. Check these fasteners also.
How's about a center channel?
Seriously, get a plasma display. But if you can't, this may eliminate a good bit of the rattle.The most important thing to do is to check all of the screws and make sure that they are securely in place. Several less than tight screws will make your display more susceptible to rattle. Just don't overtighten them or you'll risk stripping the screws.
Is your display on the floor, carpet or on a stand? Try to get some foam to place under the individual feet or casters. This can be purchased cheaply at Wal-Mart and should be similar to the foam padding that is used for beds/pillows. Cut it to be slightly larger than each foot/caster. Get foam that is 2" - 3" thick (it will be smashed down by the display) and be sure that the display is still stable after you do this. You don't want it rocking.
The panel on the back of the display is held on by screws. Get some soft rubber washers to go between the back panel and the display itself (ie, screw, panel, washer, display).
The following is a bit risky
As for the front panel, you may be able to get some very thin foam/rubber that can be cut-to-fit and inserted between the outside bezel/border and the screen itself. You don't want to slide anything too big in there because you may exert to much pressure on the screen material or the plastic bezel/border. The word crack! comes to mind, so care must be taken.
